Adrift/Napospas vlnám is a unique cross-section of Ian Stephen’s poetic and dramatic work, a chronicle of his artistically versatile observation of the world around, and an extraordinarily powerful and manifold wave in the sea of European poetry. This collection covers twenty-four years of Ian’s work and is not only a document of his artistic development, but also a poetic dispatch from a differently anchored world, a world of distinct traditions, different ways of thinking and perception. www.periplum.cz

Ian was recently awarded a major bursary by the Scottish Arts Council to apply the same concentration to collecting and developing his prose writing, on a maritime theme. During 2008 he has been on several voyages, including sailing trips to Rockall and to Brittany from his Stornoway home. The latest of these is archived as Brittany Weblog on the Northings on-line journal. www.hi-arts.co.uk Logs of previous journeys are also archived.
